The sun creeps down
here comes the night
in a moonlit town
there is a light
wide eyed and frail
there is a man
grotesquely pale
without a plan
he pulls at his hair
and paces the floor
and without a care
he runs out the door
he cries out in vain
and falls to his knees
and asks God if his pain
could leave him please
he had planned his life out
down to a tee
and had no doubt
that's the way it would be
well life came around
and ruined it all
and he soon found
he had no one to call
so here he is
lost and alone
that body of his
as cold as stone
he prays on all fours
that God would hear his cry
that he would open doors
and not let his dreams die
the wind blows on his face
and sends chills up his spine
he feels at peace in this place
and knows it will all be fine
though life is meant
to be a test
you must be content
knowing God knows best

Here I sit, it's late at night. My heart feels your pain, but I know you're alright. God holds you tight; won't let you go, The night will be dark but dawn will follow.
